Saturday 8/4/18

Forecast called for heavy rain on-and-off all day. I almost didn't make the donuts because I thought Market may get rained out. Well..rain fell intermittently all day, didn't keep visitors away. It seemed like people were cruising around in cars waiting for the rain to stop, then pouring into Market. The crowd thinned out when rain resumed, then came back with clearing skies, so that overall we had a good day. Great hats and hair abounded. Behold..

This woman made her own watermelon hat. I love Vermont.

Nice braids. That's Smiley across the way from braids.

Same group looking for cell service. Good luck with that!

Glad I made the donuts. Kids approved.

Saturday 7/21/18

Weather gods continue to smile on the Market. Forget Dusneyland-This is the Happiest Place on Earth. Of course now that it's July, I'm thinking about getting ready for Winter-need to call the firewood guy. Maybe I'll do the Winter Market this year, who knows. Meanwhile Summer still holds sway. Here's some pics.

Saturday 6/30/18

Hottest Market so far this season. Temps reached the 90s. We still had a massive crowd, with many people jumping in the Whetstone Brook to cool off. Two ice cream sellers may not have been enough. We had a blues playing one man band as the day's entertainment. July starts tomorrow. Know what that means? Winter's on the way. Visit the market now. There is still time!

Chloe eating ice cream while ordering pizza-a real multi-tasker.

Saturday market 6/23/18

Another great day at Market. The tuned steeldrum and didgereedoo dudes played unearthly sounding music, to everyone's delight. People came by just to look at and try the instruments.
The number of kids running around the place is a source of amazement and joy. If not the Happiest Place on Earth, Market is certainly the Happiest Place in Vermont. Almost July. Get out here before Summer ends.

There is the didgeridoo poking out of the tent-canopy-stage thing.

Imelda and helper arrange produce and flowers.

Saturday 6/9/18

Wonderful Market day. An increase in number of visitors from last week's Market, due to the annoying cow parade being over. I guess the cows aren't annoying, just the idea that the Market suffers decreased attendance that day.
No such problems today. We had food, drink, music by a dude playing the strangest bagpipey-but-not-really instrument I have ever seen. Music emanating out of it was good.
Also today was Kids Day, when the little kiddies of the local area set up tables to sell stuff that they make themselves. Here's some pics.

Bagpipe? Also banjo.

Thought I'd do a short video of last week's band, from my booth. Check out the dancing kid. He really got into it
